This basically means contact with other objects such as beer taps, glasses or cutlery.
The result can be costly in breakages, chips and cracks and can cause minor, virtually invisble abrasions which will weaken the glass, making them far more susceptible to breakage due to mechanical impact or thermal shock.
Crown Glassware recommends removing any damaged products from service.
| Due to the fact that the glass retains temperature, any sudden change can cause breakage. An example is putting glasses that have had ice or cold liquid in them directly into the dish washer. The sudden change in temperature is sure to cause breakages.
